Bastille Day vs Independence Day
I still need to write this thing up since I am so lazy about it. Summer is within the pond. This year is the 9th year I have been in US. I have been many of Independence days. That's for sure. I watched fireworks a couple of times even took some pictures from my fool automatic digital camera. (OK, we used to call those automatic camera as "fool camera - means camera for fool). haha. Of course, the firework pictures weren't that nice to look at from those fool cameras.Bastille Day is French National day. It's more about freedom. Humm.... all national day is all about freedom. Oh, I don't know what I am talking about. It's 3am in the morning. I had been in the crazy subway for more than an hour tonight because the wall was collapsed in a train station near where i live. I had to take two buses to get home.
So this is the year of change. It's the first time I have new feeling about Independence Day since I am able to celebrate it as an insider. It's kind of strange feeling but it also felt good.
We had a party at Bastille Day. I remembered it was 10 years ago. I went to Paris. I didn't know what happened. The firework started flashing in the sky. That's the moment I know it's a special day. Luckily, I got a chance to experience it. So, We were planning a party on weekend. I remembered the day. It was a symbol to my new life too.
The party was awesome. I really had a great time. I saw many friends I haven't seen for a long time. Everyone was so happy and excited. I almost cried when the special cake came out. My very dear friend, G, made a very special surprised cake for me. That was one of a kind. I was speechless.
I really appreciated everything everyone has ever done for me. And, Very first and interesting Independence day!
