2 Drifters and Coffee Date
It's new festival time again. I missed lots of movies I want to see because I went to San Francisco. I really live San Francisco. So, it's all good.
Last night was the first time I went to see the movies in new festival. The first movie I saw was Coffee Date. The movie itself was well done. I guess I watch too much DVDs from Netflix. Right now, most of movies I saw are way better than those in DVDs.
Love and relationship are always the main themes in gay movies. I like this movie because it tried to discuss about straight-gay in a different dimension. Could a straight man and a gay man be best friends? If gay guys can be best friends, why two guys in different sexual orientation couldn't best friends? Does that make a straight guy gay?
We constantly stereotype people. Guys who love opera, romantic movies would be gay. Guys who don't clean house, don't decorate would be straight. The world always has to be divided to two. Either black or white. Nothing in grey.
The second movie is Two Drifters (Odete). OK, I can't find the original link to the movie right now. But, it's showing in Quad tomorrow. We can read all different reviews from all the websites.
I actually love this movie except the last scene. I saw "O fantasma" like a couple of years ago. It caught me a lot how the director tried to capture the festish in the life. We all have some sort of dark secrets in our mind. The movie transformed those dark side of us to the extreme. My friend, Simone, said it's very disgusting but I did think it's very interesting.
Odete is about two people who look for love and relationship. I guess when people desperated for love, they can be everything and anything. They can do everything and anything to acheive it. It's actually kind of very sick. Love is universal whatever straight or gay. When love turns obssession, everyone actually suffered. I couldn't imagine how a gay guy would turn on by a girl, just she tried so hard to become his ex-lover. Movie is about fantasy. I guess that's how we live in the life. I highly recommend to see this movie.

Two Union Squares
I went to San Francisco last weekend. It was quite an amazing experience. So, both cities all have Union Square. Union Square in New York is the place I take subway everyday. When I was in San Francisco, I went to Union Square everyday too. It's so funny. They actually quite different. It reveals the charactristics of the cities. Union Square in New York is more political, the San Francisco one is more artistic.
